The family of former factional leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, late Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has announced his funeral programme.
Adebanjo died on February 14 at the age of 96.
In a statement on Thursday, the family said the funeral ceremonies — curated to celebrate his legacy of advocating for democracy, true federalism, and national unity — will commence with a day of tributes and service of songs on April 30 at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos.
The wake will follow on May 2 at Pa Ayo Adebanjo’s country home in Isanya Ogbo, near Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The main funeral service will hold on May 3 at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Isanya Ogbo, with a thanksgiving service to conclude the events on May 4.
The family has also made provisions for background materials and programme brochures, adding that they are open to pre-event briefings and interviews.
