Oyo APC felicitates chieftain Fatai Ibikunle over FG’s appointment

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has congratulated one of its foremost chieftains, Alhaji Fatai Bayonle Ibikunle, over his appointment as Executive Director on Commercial and Environmental Development of the newly established South West Development Commission (SWDC).

Ibikunle’s new appointment was announced on Friday alongside those of the Chairman, Managing Director, Executive Directors and other members of the commission, which has its proposed headquarters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, Oyo APC described Ibikunle’s appointment as worthwhile and a step in the right direction.

“Alh. Ibikunle possesses the required experience, capacity and charisma to work with the rest of the team to set SWDC in motion and position it to be the best among its counterparts.

“The idea of geopolitical development commissions is a laudable one and going by the decision of President Tinubu to do justice to the citizens of the country by ensuring its establishment in all the six zones, it is crystal clear that the current administration is in a hurry to develop the nooks and crannies of our dear nation.

“Interestingly, the calibre of people being appointed to steer the ship of each of the six commissions is another testament to President Tinubu’s excellent leadership acumen and managerial skills. With the headquarters of the new SWDC in Ibadan and our own Alh. Ibikunle as the Executive Director (Commercial and Environmental Development) in a team which is populated by thorough bred professionals and fantastic administrators, we have no doubt that SWDC will be the best among its peers in no time.

“Therefore, we congratulate Sen. Olubunmi Adetunmbi (Chairman), Dr. Charles Akinola (Managing Director), Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle (Executive Director), Hon. Ibrahim Olaifa and others on their appointments while we wish them huge success in the task ahead, even as we align with the President on the confidence he reposed in them,” Sadare stated.
