Osimhen On The Cusp Of Making History In Turkey As He Approaches Historic Feat At Galatasaray
Victor Osimhen is redefining the record books at Galatasaray, as the prolific striker nears the club’s all-time record for goals in a single season by a foreign player.
According to a report by Soccernet, the Super Eagles forward has been a sensation in Turkey.
He has illuminated the Süper Lig with 30 goals and seven assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
His explosive form has not only transformed him into a fan favourite at Rams Park but also made him the linchpin of Galatasaray’s campaign for a second consecutive league title.
Osimhen’s 21 league goals make him the current top scorer in the Turkish top flight.
Overall, his prolific return has propelled him to fourth place on Galatasaray’s all-time list of highest-scoring foreigners in a single season.
The 26-year-old is now just four goals shy of the legendary Mario Jardel’s 34-goal mark from the 2000/2001 season.
He also trails club greats Mauro Icardi and Bafétimbi Gomis, who both netted 32 goals in their respective standout campaigns.
