A statement by the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin, said the closure will take place from 10:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
He said the move is to facilitate the installation of a new level crossing on the Sango rail line, as part of the ongoing road construction activities in the area.
“Residents, commuters, and all road users in the affected area are strongly advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes during the period of closure. The government has expressed regret over any inconvenience this may cause and assures the public of its commitment to improving transportation infrastructure across the state.
“Motorists are urged to cooperate with traffic management officials and adhere to all diversion signs for a smooth transition during the temporary disruption,” the commissioner said.
